Broken Relationship; Scratch Out His Eyes, Rip Up Her Clothes, or Cut Off His Willy?

March 08, 2010  //  Posted by: admin  //  Category: Learn how to make your own clothes

Discussion explaining to people that they should stock up on craft supplies, sewing and quilting supplies so that they will have materials on hand to make their own clothes, blankets, household useful items. During the coming depression you are not going to be able to go out and buy many items. But if you have crafting supplies already on hand, then you can make your own items. Some items I would have on hand: Fabric (material) thread needles sewing machine batting scissors measuring tape or yard stick buttons elastic zippers snaps cutting mat rotary cutter bias tape ribbon yarn knitting needles glue glue sticks glue gun wood tools nails screws bolts paint stain pillow stuffing paint brushes crochet thread patterns for men, women and children in your family’s sizes iron or press If you folks have any other tips or items, please share them in the comments section

I recall reading an article in the UK press about the revenge taken by a “woman scorned”.  Her response to her husband’s affair was very dramatic to say the least; she cut the legs and arms off all of his suits and then set about distributing the contents of his celebrated wine cellar around the village in which they lived – one or two bottles on each and every doorstep, together with their morning milk delivery!  Quite inventive.  And then I’m sure we all read about the case of a certain man whose furious wife decided that cutting legs off suits simply wasn’t enough and took a knife to his manhood instead.  I subsequently read that he turned this to his advantage by becoming a porn star;  Apparently so many people wanted to see his “wotsit”, he not only had it sewn back on again, he had a couple of inches added aswell!

This doesn’t appear to be an uncommon occurrence; just Google “cut off his willy” and there are numerous references to this form of revenge.  In fact I did hear that some ladies have taken this one step further, and attached their partners’ manhood to helium balloons so as to ensure that they would not be able to have them sewn back on again. Ouch!

What is the message being conveyed?  Is the aim simply to make sure that they won’t be able to do THAT again?  Or “you hurt me and so I’ll hurt you”, in the spirit of “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth”?  Or is it to expose their actions to the world at large, to embarrass them just as you feel you have been embarrassed? Is it simply a way of lashing out?  All of the above are intertwined, I’m sure.

Not everyone responds in such a dramatic manner.  Have you watched the film “the women”?  It’s an intriguing film, with Meg Ryan (in the most recent version) playing the housewife who thinks everything is running along quite smoothly….until she discovers her husband’s dalliance with the perfume girl in their local upscale store.  This film depicts every type of woman, all ages, shapes, sizes and mentalities – and each has their own take on how the husband should be dealt with.  The mother’s is the voice of reason (and experience) recommending  a stiff upper lip combined with a period of playing hard to get, and letting him know what he is missing.  Sensible woman – this approach was working rather well, until friends added their opinions into the mix!

But, how do you control your emotions, and turn a blind eye, when your heart is breaking?  And how do you know if your partner is just having a minor dalliance or if they have really fallen in love?  It’s very difficult, if not impossible, to be logical when your emotions are involved.  Logic and emotions are like “oil and water” and rarely do they mix well in these circumstances.  In fact whenever you are confronted with a situation perceived as a threat (and this type of circumstance definitely falls into that category) your higher brain functions are effectively cut off, ensuring that you cannot think logically.  One has to step back and calm down before your logical brain can re-engage.  Your emotions definitely need to be managed in such circumstances. And hypnosis can be invaluable here.

Whether it’s best to lash out or to turn a blind eye is a matter of personal opinion.  Either way, there’s a lot you can do to help yourself to think logically and deal with an undesirable situation in the most effective manner possible.  And if it does end in a permanent rift, it’s massively important to be your own best friend and to make it as easy as possible for you to move on.  There is an art to moving on after a broken relationship, but you can learn it, and apply it.  Hypnosis is extremely useful in all this as in itself it is a state of relaxation, and allows you to take a step back and think logically;  you can rebuild your confidence and see things from a different angle with a few well placed suggestions…and prepare yourself to attract a better partner into your life.

Jessica Simpson Named “2006 Babe Of The Year”

March 03, 2010  //  Posted by: admin  //  Category: Singer

12 year old Shaheen auditions for the judges on Britains Got Talent 2009 singing………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..Whose Loving You by Michael Jackson.

BabesOfHollywood.com a celebrity web site focusing on beautiful female celebrities, today announced that Jessica Simpson has been named it’s 2006 “Babe of the Year”. The award, handed out annually by the web site, is designed to acknowledge the female celebrity who looked the hottest while still being newsworthy during the year. Simpson beat out fellow blondes Paris Hilton and Britney Spears as well as Lindsay Lohan. She also finished ahead of 2005 Babe of The Year, Angelina Jolie, who came in a close second thanks to her role in the celebrity international baby adoption trend.

For Simpson, this “award” comes at the end of a banner year where the singer and sometimes actress was forced to face her popularity alone for the first time post her divorce from boy band singer/sports fan Nick Lachey. Simpson created a consistent buzz on Search Engines, web sites and celebrity blogs throughout the year.

From an artistic standpoint, Simpson was at a creative low. Following her 2005 role as Daisy Duke in the film version of The Dukes of Hazard, Simpson took on her first leading lady role in the low-brow comedy Employee of the Month. At the time of its release in June, Simpson was rumored to be dating her Employee of the Month co-star, comedian Dane Cook who was also her co-host at the Teen Choice Awards. All of this while finishing up her divorce from Lachey. In August, the singer returned to focus on music with the release of her fourth album A Public Affair. Despite a star studded video for it’s title-track first single, which featured friends Eva Longoria, Christina Applegate, Christina Milian and Maria Menounous, the album has sold less than half that of her top selling album Irresistible. On the business side, Simpson continued to leverage her dumb-blonde “brand” following the huge success of her TV show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. Her most recent endeavor features a line of clip-in hair extensions with her hair stylist and close confidant Ken Paves, which continues to keep her active and in the limelight.

On the personal side, Simpson also had her struggles in 2006, including claims that she was dating and intimately involved with singer and musician John Mayer. Those claims were refuted by Mayer and left another embarrassing mark on the Simpson PR campaign. Making it especially painful were the news reports and photos of her ex-husband Nick Lachey romping around with MTV VJ Vanessa Minnillo.

Jessica Simpson’s most recent newsworthy moment came at the recent Kennedy Center Honors. During a performance saluting Dolly Parton, an influential (and fellow well-endowed) singer, Simpson was brought to tears following the performance. While initially the reason given was that the emotion of performing in front of an idol was too overwhelming, it turned out that the only thing too overwhelming was Simpson’s bust size. Apparently a near Janet Jackson-type wardrobe malfunction was to embarrassing for the pop-star.

Still, through all the ups and downs of the year, and all the press, paparazzi and media commentary, Jessica Simpson has weathered it all, and is certainly no worse for the wear. While her music and film careers may have there ups and downs, Jessica Simpson is still one of the internet’s most popular figures. And what a figure it is. For that reason (and perhaps that reason alone), Jessica Simpson is BabesOfHollywood.com’s 2006 “Babe of the Year”. Congratulations Jessica.

Clear your Home and Free your Mind! Spring Clean Out: Games for the Family

February 09, 2010  //  Posted by: admin  //  Category: Learn how to make your own clothes

Its spring time, the birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, and the squirrels are chasing each other right into the street. Not sure why, but I think it has something to do with hormones. We are all getting the spring time jitters; spring is a great time to do a Spring Clean Out. Your home is an extension of your mind. If your home is full of clutter, then what do you think your mind is filled with? Yep, you got it! It’s not likely it would be filled with organized thoughts and serenity.

The more organized your home is, the more organized your mind will be. So, I challenge you this spring to have a Family Spring Clean Out. No, that doesn’t mean kick out your kids; I’m talking about the other “stuff”. Get your wife, husband, and children involved. Go through your beautiful homes and find anything that you haven’t used in 6 months and give it away to a charity. When you do this with your children you are teaching them the importance of removing cluttering from their lives. It teaches them not only organizational skills but also introduces them to giving unneeded toys and clothes to children that would really enjoy them.

So often we can become blind to the clutter around us, we just get used to it. Believe me, the time that I most notice the clutter around my house is when company comes over, especially the In-Laws! Not the best time to realize you’re a hoarder. Do I really need to save every extra button that comes with my new clothes, when I know that if a button were to fall off my clothing, they would just sit around for years waiting to have a button put on them? This added to even more clutter. Do I really need 4 packages of post-it’s because they were a $1 each. That’s 20 pads of post-its; do I even realize how many years and notes it will take to use those up? So far I’ve used less than 2 pads and it’s been over 6 months. At this rate I will still be using these post-its in 2015; will they even be sticky then?

Why in the world did I by them in the first place? I must have been very worried that there was going to be a run on post–it’s. Do you have things around your home, that you ask, “Why in the world did I buy this in the first place? I didn’t need this!” Who knows, but just get rid of it. Although, as I am writing this I can’t bear to think of parting with my post-it’s, I know my limitations, and so will you.

What does your home look like? What does the play room/ family room look like? What do your children’s rooms look like? And don’t forget those junk drawers and closets where everything gets stuffed right before guests are coming over. How many toys do your children have that always get over looked, are missing pieces, or are just plane broken? Do your children really need all of that stuff? Is there something missing from your life? Is your “stuff” a substitute for something missing in your life? Apparently, I am missing something in my life that I think a million post-it’s will fill. I’m still searching for what that might be. This extra clutter isn’t the “stuff” that matters, be it post-it’s or another substitute. Time spent is what matters. Rules, boundaries, and consistency are what matters, not all that stuff. Your children will hardly remember the toys they had growing up, they’ll remember the times you had fun or did something new and exciting as a family. Those are the memories that money and post-it’s can’t buy. Think back to your childhood, what memories do you have? Are they objects or events? I’m willing to bet that the majority of your memories are not based on stuff. They rarely are.

Room needs to be made, not only in our homes, but in our lives. When space is made new great things can come into that space. You never know what’s waiting out there to come into your life. Make the space for something amazing to come in. Let it in.

Here are some games I’ve created to help make Spring Clean Out Day a little more fun for you and your kids.

#1 Beat the clock, Race! See who can make the biggest pile of stuff to give away in 2 hours?

#2 If it’s broke, we don’t need it, race! See who can find 5 things that are broken in your home that need to be thrown away.

#3 The alphabet and color game! See who can find something that starts with a certain letter or color to give away?

#4 Reward your family after the Spring Clean Out is done. Tell everyone before hand that if everybody helps there will be a big surprise after you are all done. (If a surprise doesn’t keep their interest you can tell them before hand what the reward is.) Then take all of your family somewhere really fun that everyone will enjoy. Remember, it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. Kid’s favorite memories are great times spent with the people they love and look up to, their families!

I wanted to also include a great tip for keeping your newly organized home looking great! Set a rule called “If it’s on the floor or out of place it goes in a garbage bag, either to donate or trash. You can give the kids a warning, “You’ve got 5 minutes and then I’m coming in with THE BAG!” If you are consistent and follow through with the rules you set, your children will follow them. This will teach your children to be responsible for their own stuff, which is a very important lesson to learn. I used this garbage bag rules on children before and I was happily surprised with how well it worked. I had never seen the house so clean. The rule reduced me raising my voice to get the children to keep the house neat and organized. What a relief, a more relaxed, peaceful and organized household. Give it a try! Try to make it fun for everyone. It might even make your family bond a little stronger. That’s worth the effort and it’s something that not even the strongest post-it can do!

One of the most long-drawn battles on copyright infringement that pitched pop diva Mariah Carey into a legal tussle came to a close today, on the September 26, 2007. This case had been ongoing for the last 1 year or so, with singer Rafael Chafir suing Mariah Carey for copying her song “Sexy”, and refining some tunes to make her song, “It’s like that!” Interesting to the naked eye and you would find the imbroglio even more intriguing when you get into the specifics!

Obviously, Sexy was released long before Mariah could come up with It’s like that. Sexy, to common knowledge was released in 2004 and Rafael had the copyrights on the song. She had put up this song on the World Wide Web. And this, according to Rafael, was one source from where Mariah Carey stole her song. She claimed that Mariah had taken some key tunes and chords from the song, and refined it in It’s like that.

Sounds like a valid argument, but when you consider what the ruling judge had to say about the whole story, you would find that there seems to be some kind of disconnect. Kimba Wood, a US District Court Judge, ruled in favor of Mariah stating that there wasn’t enough evidence that Mariah or her collaborators sneaked in to the website and stole the song. But one thing that the Judge pointed out was, Mariah’s tunes were not “strikingly similar” to Sexy, to deduce the case of copyright infringement. And while, Mariah and her collaborators can rejoice for now, but they should know that they were let off, only just!

Clearly, people who had heard Sexy, and It’s like that are quick to point out striking similarities between the two. They clearly feel that It’s like that seems to be a more refined version of Sexy, especially when you consider the tunes and the chorus. Thus, most people who had been following this case closely would say that Raphael was indeed at the receiving end of justice. Some of them have even gone on record to say that it was Mariah’s standing and popularity that allowed her to get away with this. All said and done, this clearly was one episode Mariah could have avoided, had she been a touch careful with her tunes.

Road ahead for Mariah Carey – Well, it never has looked better for the singer. Her next album, The Emancipation of Mimi, is all set to release on the 4th December. From initial previews, it seems to be one heck of an effort from Mariah. By now, Mariah is already an established singer in her genre, and in spite of opposition from Christina Aguiliera and Shania Twain, she still manages to lead the pack.

Mariah fans, like Mariah can breathe easy. But even they too like Mariah know that these kinds of incidents should not be repeated ever after. If it does happen, the otherwise glittering music career of Mariah Carey could definitely come under the copyright hammer.
